I hit 1800 with coupleocachers on Columbus Day with Lil' Sinoquipe - a BSA themed cache, which was nice.

Coupleocachers hit 2500 on the same cache!

CONGRATULATIONS TO US!!!

Thanks! Yes, I hit 1900 with Are You Geocaching Again? by Lovin Country (GC207YE).

JuniorNimrod hit 500 on Gotta go! by Run&Hike (GC136RX). (The next cache we found at the same rest stop was called Wee wee, also by Run&Hike.)

JuniorNimrod's #500!

This was all part of a 37 cache Black Friday Delmarva run with CodyHollowFarm and KatieNKoda. We actually did find caches in Delaware, Maryland, and Virginia to make it an officital Delmarva outing. In addtition to 35 Groundspeak caches, we also found 2 TerraCaching virtuals.

32 more finds and I'll have 2000 total finds between Groundspeak, TerraCaching, and Navicache.

I found my 2000th cache yesterday with Old Navy's virtual The John Carlyle House (TCDM4) in Old Town Alexandria. I now have...

1932 - Groundspeak
59 - Terracaching
9 - Navicache

I hit 2000 on geocaching.com yesterday with High Ridge Letterbox (GC183VG). Figured it was a good worthy cache near home. I'd been out to it a couple times without luck and have had it on my list to make good on. It is a projection cache at an unknown distance from the starting point.

I'd first planned to make CHF's Redneck Pony Racing Season Kick off event 2000, but it was taking me longer than I'd planned to get from Union Mills Cache Across Maryland cache to Concord Point Star Spangled Banner Geotrail cache with enough caches in between Saturday, than I'd thought and I was risking missing the event all together, so I decided to just get there before it was over and "party like it was 1999".

Plus, since HRL was my only cache for Sunday, it will actually show up in my stats as 2000 once I get to log the CAM caches - which are not published on geocaching.com until after the CAM picnic in May.

Another 18 and I'll be at 2100 combined finds. Stay tuned...

A minor milestone today. I found my 75th TerraCache (50 Traditional + 25 Locationless) with Jones Point Lighthouse (TCCIQ) by SoccerFanatics on the way home from work.

Perhaps a little premature, but I'm considering making a trip to the Iwo Jima Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery on Saturday for a couple of milestones (and other caches).

At the Iwo Gima Memorial...
GC4F35 - Uncommon Valor - My 2100th Groundspeak cache.
N011ED - February 23 - My 2200th combined geocache find (2100 GC + 85 TC + 15 NC) (published 23 Jun 2004 and FTF still available)
TCD07 - The Marine Corp War Memorial

Then onto ANC for 3 TerraCaching virtuals 6 Groundspeak caches (3 Virt / 3 Mult). There is also a TC Virt and a GC puzzle at the USAF memorial just south of ANC.

I'm sitting at 2099 GC / 85 TC / 14 NC, so won't be doing any more caches until then.

I mad it official and logged my 2200th geocache find with an FTF on February 23 (N011ED) (USMC / Iwo Jima Memorial) and my 2100th Groundpeak cache with Uncommon Valor (GC4F35).

I visited the USAF Memorial just south of Arlington National Cemetery and while at ANC, visited...

* the graves of 3 of the Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima.
* the grave of President William Taft
* the grave of President John F. Kennedy
* the grave of Robert F. Kennedy
* the grave of Edward (Teddy) Kennedy
* the grave of Audie Murphy
* the grave of Abner Doubleday
* the grave of Robert Todd Lincoln
* the grave of Edward P. Doherty (do you know what his claim to fame was?)
* memorials for the Space Shuttles Challenger and Columbia
* a memorial of the Pan Am Flight 103 Lockerbie bombing
* a memorial to the Iranian hostage rescue attempt
* a 9/11 memorial for American Flight 77 & Pentagon
* The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
* Arlington House
* the Civil War Tomb of the Unknowns

And, of course, had the honor of being being in the company of countless American heroes who sacrificed much, often all, in defense of our nation.

All of this involved walking about 7 miles around Arlington National Cemetery over the course of 6 hours in a humid 95 degrees. Luckily, I brought just enough water to last me through this longer then expected visit.

I'm glad to have finally made my first visit to Arlington, despite being a life long Washington area resident. If you have the chance, be you should definitely make the trip. I'd even be willing to join you, if I can.

That's awesome, Arlington was a definite highlight of my trip there in 2000.

A different type of milestone, but I was just made aware that I am now in the Top 100 of the US Leaderboard on TerraCaching (by TPS). I still really don't fully understand their point system, but it's still cool. :geek:

My two sponsors are #3 (SoccerFanatics) and #85 (Web-ling).

TPS - TerraCaching Point System ~ A system of scoring caches based on perceived difficulty. Computed by comparing the rate of finders a cache gets over time to that of other caches in the area.
