Thanks web-ling. When identify myself, I usually say I'm a "Christian", meaning I'm a follower of Christ. When speaking to fellow Christians, I'll identfiy myself as a Methoist for reference.

Well this I am sure will be VERY unpopular but...

Jesus himself created his Church on St Peter and the Catholic Church is the only Church that can draw it's roots back to Jesus.

I know everyone can cite a laundry list of anti Catholic setiments... I, right at this moment can not quote scripture and verus but I know that it is said that Jesus put his church upon Peter and I know also that it is said that the word of God is true.

I believe that Jesus is God and if the word of God is true and Jesus is God and Jesus says that he builds his Church upon Peter and gives Peter his authority and THE only Church that is a direct and continued line of Peter and Jesus is the Catholic Church.

I know there are a multitude of denominations within the Christian faith and at the end of the day I don't know what the right answer is BUT:

I know that in the deepest darkest part of the rain forest where no "white man" has ventured, Jesus has shown himself and made himself known to those tribes.

Do those tribes call themselves "Catholic" or call themselves some other name or no name at all?

Truely, at the end of the day... When Jesus reveals himself to us... we become one of the same and title and wording seems meaningless.

I'm not gifted with charisma and I hope my point got across. Jesus will touch each and every one of us and regardless of the "title" or "denomination"... when Jesus touches our heats and say I am here... it's up to us to reply to him directly. And what we say to him when he is there is really what is important. Not what what your church has on its building. Not what you preacher identifies himself as.

When Jesus says.... "Hello, I am here" What are you saying back?

Thank, CP. To me the Church (big C) is the "fellowship of all believers", not a building or an institution.

I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church, but by the time I was 13, faith had never really taken hold in me. I walked away from all things God until I met my future wife and began to attend church with her from time to time until I wasn't just doing it for her. From that point, I now have a deep relationship with Christ and a maturing faith.

I think God meets us where we are and I think this church (small c) was what I needed at the time to come back to Him. Sandy and I were eventually married there and are still members and worhipers there.

We did a small group study last summer on the history of some of the major Christian denomination and it was very interesting to see the history and reasons for the offshoots and various branches that form the family tree of the Christian faith and how they all trace their roots to Peter - The Rock.
